How Sweep It Is!

"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross." - Sinclair Lewis

I've been learning to use voice software at work. A problem I was having was that the mic I was using was broken. It is funny, but it took me a while to figure this out and I'm pretty good with computers, but not with sound. My voice starts to hurt the more I talk, which is weird because I can talk on the phone for hours and my voice does just fine. I'm getting past the learning curve and am getting much better at dictating, but there is nothing like good old fashioned typing. A lot of people leave themselves voice memos, I would like to do that, but it would have to be a new practice for me to learn. So Friday my new mic came in. That made me excited and I practiced some more dictation. Too bad my computer is too slow to let me fully appreciate the program.

Friday Ana and Rick came into town for the UT game. We met up at Baby A's for drinks after work. Ericka met me there and then Rick's brother joined us. Later Ana and Rick got there and so did the other Rick and his girlfriend. We sat outdoors and ate and had drinks. Ericka and I headed out a few hours later to attend a party of one of her co-workers, but then we just decided to go home instead.

Saturday morning I was planning to head out to the UT tailgate to join Ana and Rick, but due to unforseen events, I ended up missing it. I did watch the game on TV though. Saturday night I didn't do too much. It was a sports watching weekend, with football and baseball.

The Red Sox are the 2007 World Series Champions. Sunday they swept the Rockies. That is twice they didn't win it at home though. Just read about it at Joy of Sox because there isn't much more I can add.

It is a good time to be a Sox fan. I guess the wait was worth it.

My grandmother called me with the usual once a week call, but this time she had news that my grandfather was sick again and had to go to the hospital. He is a strong man, but I don't know how many more illnesses he can beat in his condition. I don't think I'm emotionally ready to let him go, but I hate that he has to suffer. I've kept him in my prayers.

I really enjoyed this Youtube video. I think most of you will find it to be boring, but being a student and a person that uses computers a lot, it made me think about this.

A Vision of Students Today

A short video summarizing some of the most important characteristics of students today - how they learn, what they need to learn, their goals, hopes, dreams, what their lives will be like, and what kinds of changes they will experience in their lifetime. Created by Michael Wesch in collaboration with 200 students at Kansas State University.

who gets to decide if you don't like them enough?
